What God, through His Son Jesus, has done for us is so unbelievable in human terms. For His Son to suffer as we do and die a horrible excruciating death in our stead makes no logical sense. Who would do such a thing? Christian's accept those gifts on Faith, but many doubt that it really happened.
For those who harbor such doubt, or who know someone who does, we invite you to join our investigation into who Jesus really was. Was He really who He claimed to be, the Son of God, or was He just a good moral teacher or even a lunatic? C.S. Lewis says He must be one of those 3. This multi-session discussion series will critically and honestly examine Jesus’ claims using "cold case forensic" techniques. Each session will include a video which will identify 1 category's available evidence. Following the video, participants will have an opportunity to safely share their thoughts, doubts and related experiences. Share if you like, just listen if you prefer.
Experience the life of Jesus as if you are there with him. Part 2 of this series with show each available episode of "The Chosen" multi-season video series about Jesus, told from the viewpoint of those who walked this earth with him.

How would you even go about verifying that? You’d probably use a lot of the same techniques used by law enforcement to solve today’s “cold cases”. Join us as we look into those techniques and apply them to the evidence surrounding what the secular historical texts, science, and the New Testament tell us about the entity called Jesus. Is he really who He said He is.
Please, join us as we follow a forensic examination of what the New Testament tells us about Jesus.
Every human has a built in desire to know God. You may not recognize it as such but rather as a need for something more in your life – an emptiness that you can’t seem to fill. If you have such a feeling, an emptiness, you owe it to yourself to at least investigate whether Jesus is who he says he is. If he is, you will gain more than you can ever imaging. If he isn’t, you only lost a little time; time during which you’ve had some interesting discussion and met some caring people.
Jesus commanded us to “go and teach”. Have you ever began to talk to a friend or neighbor about Jesus only to be told that He’s a fictitious character or a good man, nothing more? Or, the Bible is just a bunch of stories, old wives tales that enlightened people no longer believe? Were you satisfied with how you were able to respond? This investigation will give you to tools you need to speak about the authenticity of what the New Testament tells us;
After all, each one of the “Gospels” gives us a slightly different picture of Him.
We’ll start by meeting the investigatory team and looking at what people say about Jesus. We’ll examine our own beliefs about Him and discuss various beliefs others have regarding that persona so many call God and others call a fiction.
We’ll examine whether there were any eye-witnesses and if so analyze whether they are to be believed. We’ll subject the New Testament documents to the same scrutiny historians use to determine if any historical document is accurate.
We’ll look to see if there are any historical documents outside of the Bible that collaborates what the Bible tells us. And, find out what we might conclude about Jesus from non-Christian historical sources such as Josephus, the Talmud, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, and others.
Next it will be time to look at Jesus Himself. Was He the long-awaited Jewish Messiah? Were the miraculous deeds he performed real miracles or just magic tricks? We’ll define the difference between the two and look for evidence that Jesus did indeed perform miracles. That He was filled with the Spirit of God. That He had the power to forgive sins and that He fulfilled the descriptions of the Messiah from the Old Testament.
Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is core to Christianity. If he did rise from the dead there can be no doubt that He is who He said he is; the Son of God. If he didn’t, then his claims to be the Son of God have little or no credibility. We’ll examine the claims of what could have happened to make it falsely appear as if Jesus had risen when he had not. Are they credible? If not, why not? We’ll also examine the physical abuse He suffered before and during His crucifixion to see if medically that abuse is more consist with claims of His death or survival. And lastly, we’ll look at the claims Jesus was seen alive after he had died and was buried.
Finally, we’ll tie together all the evidence we discovered so you can reach your own verdict. Was Jesus who He said He was, or was he a mere man; a good teacher perhaps.
